Growth and job opportunities as Peak ARE expands into Mackay

Leading North Queensland mechanical and electrical contractor Peak ARE (Airconditioning, Refrigeration and Electrical) is putting a call our for more workers, announcing it has expanded outside of Townsville for the first time.

Owner Brad Swaffer said establishing a new, permanent second branch in Mackay was a natural progression for the growing business after opening its purpose-built North Queensland Headquarters in Townsville last April.

“The Peak ARE team has worked hard over the past two decades to build a great reputation in and around the Townsville area as a high-quality, reliable contractor and now we’re looking to take that model into Mackay,” Brad said.

“We have already pulled together a small, but experienced and respected team to lead our Mackay branch and they’ve been successful in securing some high-profile contracts.

“Growth is fantastic, but we also need to make sure we do it the right way and that we have the skilled staff to maintain our high expectations and standards for ourselves and our clients,” he said.

“So, attracting and retaining quality staff is a major focus for us right now in both Mackay and Townsville.”

Peak ARE Townsville now employs over 70 staff and is actively recruiting for eight new positions including mechanical and electrical supervisors and tradespeople.

While in Mackay there are open opportunities for HVAC and Electrical Service Technicians to join the team.

Peak ARE Mackay manager John Mulherin said the positions would offer excellent benefits including flexible nine-day fortnights, company vehicle or allowance and opportunities for further career progression.
