Leading Townsville mechanical and electrical contractor Peak ARE (Airconditioning, Refrigeration and Electrical) now has increased capacity to take on tier one projects after officially opening its new purpose-built NQ headquarters and warehouse.

Having outgrown its former premises it is now operating out of a new, custom-designed facility at 350 Bayswater Road.

The new precinct has been a significant investment which is symbolic of Peak ARE’s continuous growth over recent years and a bold statement the business is moving nowhere, but ahead.

The two-storey building, designed by Townsville’s Counterpoint Architecture and built/refurbished by Citibuild boasts modern, stylish offices, amenities and staff facilities, high-tech security systems as well as an expansive warehouse.

The addition of a self-contained, fully operational ductwork fabrication and manufacturing facility makes the occasion even more significant to the future of the business.

“The Peak ARE team is proud and excited to start this new chapter of our business story,” Owner Brad Swaffer said.

“It’s taken a lot of hard work and commitment from a lot of people to build our business to where it is today and we’re proud and humbled to walk into our new headquarters every day as a physical reminder of that effort,” he said.

“This gives us a base for continued growth and the addition of the fabrication workshop makes us more self-sufficient through the ability to complete in-house duct manufacturing for our projects.

“We’re grateful for the support and faith the Townsville business community has shown us over the years, and we’re proud to put a stake in the ground and declare we’re here to stay.”

Peak ARE is a Townsville-owned business that delivers commercial, industrial and domestic air-conditioning, refrigeration and electrical services as well as building management systems.

It has recently been successful in tendering for iconic Townsville projects including the Breakwater Hotel, Castletown redevelopment and Anelay The Strand among others.

Peak ARE employs more than 65 local people, collaborates with the Lavarack Barracks - Army School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering to provide on-the-job opportunities to apprentices as part of the Army Technical Trades Scheme and has a strong pipeline of projects secured.

Herbert MP Phillip Thompson OAM officially opened the headquarters at an invite-only event last week and says it was an occasion worth celebrating for the home-grown success-story.

“We’re talking about locals employing locals and they have done this all off their own bat through hard work and commitment,” Herbert MP Phillip Thompson said.

“There are countless opportunities for businesses like Peak ARE throughout Townsville and Northern Australia and locals like Peak ARE should be winning contracts for local projects.”
