Celebrating two decades of Peak ARE

A success story for the ages

It began twenty years ago, with just an idea in a small garage in South Townsville, and now, Peak is recognised as the leading North Queensland air conditioning, refrigeration and electrical contractor employing over 90 staff, with sites in Townsville and Mackay.

Peak originally focused on HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), with Brad specialising in complex chilled water systems. Peak ARE has now grown into a diverse business with air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, and associated trades including mechanical plumbing and sheet metal, all working in-house.

The Peak reputation is built on years of commitment to excellent workmanship and customer service, delivering clients quality assurance, reliable delivery timelines and reducing their costs by reducing its own.

"Twenty years in business is a bloody good effort in anyone's books," Director Brad Swaffer said.

"So, we're definitely proud to achieve this milestone," he said.

"Our goal from the outset has been to deliver high quality workmanship and products, at value for money, and with fewer call backs and defects.

"We have tried to lead the local pack in the way of innovation and intelligent design and we're still always looking for ways to improve and grow as a team and a company." 

"I think we've managed to maintain our high standards across the years and that's helped support our longevity and growth," Brad said.

But after 20 years of hard-earned success, what makes Brad and Lorenza feel most proud?

Is it the multi-million dollar Peak NQ Headquarters in Townsville, complete with modern offices and amenities, an expansive warehouse and fully operational ductwork fabrication and manufacturing facility?

Is it providing career and training opportunities to so many North Queenslanders? 

Is it the pipeline of secured work ahead?

Or, maybe it's the enormous contributions Peak makes through its annual Community Sponsorship Program?

These are all wonderful things, but none of them would be possible without peak people.

"We always have been and always will be a family business at heart, and the quality of our relationships with staff and external partners has been a huge part of building Peak to where it is today," Director Lorenza Swaffer said.

"Our team is who we are, and what we do, and we are enormously proud of that," she said.

"Two of our team members, Greenie and Allan, have been with us for 16 years, through the hardest, toughest times and we thank them for their hard work and commitment over so many years, and their families for supporting them as well.

"We want to thank all our staff, clients & suppliers past and present, and everyone who has been part of the Peak journey at some point in their lives, we appreciate you all.

"Bradley and I would also like to say a special thank you to our families and our children for their unwavering support and encouragement.
